Attitude

One day a father and his rich family took his son to a trip to the country with the firm purpose to show him how poor people can be. They spent a day and a night in the farm of a very poor family. When they got back from their trip the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"Very good Dad!" replied his son.
"Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked.
"Yeah!"
"And what did you learn?"
The son answered, "I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden; they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lamps in the garden; they have the stars. Our patio reaches to the front yard, they have a whole horizon." When the little boy was finishing, his father was speechless.
His son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are!"
Our outlook on life depends on the way you look at things. What others may think as riches, others may want.
The most important things in life are your friends, family, health, good humor and a positive attitude towards life. If you have these then you have everything!

Amen to that!Attitude-that's the key word...once attitude is positive, the rest of the things in life just come along without any hassles!

Loosely spoken words

Scattered papers…

Once upon a time an old man spread rumors that his neighbor was a thief. As a result, the young man was arrested. Days later the young man was proven innocent. After been released he sued the old man for wrongly accusing him.
In court the old man told the Judge: 'They were just comments, didn't harm anyone..'
The judge, before passing sentence on the case, told the old man: 'Write all the things you said about him on a piece of paper. Cut them up and on the way home, throw the pieces of paper out. Tomorrow, come back to hear the sentence.'
The next day, the judge told the old man: 'Before receiving the sentence, you will have to go out and gather all the pieces of paper that you threw out yesterday.' The old man said: 'I can't do that! The wind spread them and I won't know where to find them.'
The judge then replied: 'The same way, simple comments may destroy the honor of a man to such an extent that one is not able to fix it. If you can't speak well of someone, rather don't say anything. 'Let's all be masters of our mouths, so that we won't be slaves of our words.'

Why was I inspired by this one? Simple- think and corelate it with everyday life. Be it at home-amongst relatives or at work, isn't this something that either happens with all of us or that we cause, at some time or the other?

Someone, in his eagerness to prove himself superior, tries to pull you down somehow, making people laugh at you.

Or, you, wanting to be the victor always, pull down someone else by making jokes at their expense or belittling them.

Later on, in both cases, the person doing the pulling down may regret what he or she said. But, the cat is out of the bag. The damage is done. And, it takes ages to repair this damage.
-------------------
I quite like the suggestion of not saying anything if you can't say something well of someone. In fact, I do implement it to the extent possible(Ahem!)You surely tend to attract more respect this way than by being stand-offish/rude/insulting,don't you?

Have a lovely day!

How you look at things

Everything in this world can be seen as you wish to.
Good or Bad; Simple or Complicated; Easy or Difficult.

Its not how things are; its about how you look up to them.
…and how you look up to them is all up to you.....Pravssword

Now,isn't that also the truth and nothing but the absolute truth? Looking back at events of the last few days/weeks,I am convinced..it's my way of looking at things which made them look simple, complicated,good,bad...a case of judgement rather than intuition..If I have a preconceived notion that something or someone's not good, then, whatever they do, always seems to be wrong. On the other hand, put yourself in that person's shoes and think-and, the right answers don't take time to come along!

Light

"The road will be dark; and you might not know the way,
Yet, with the goal in sight; be certain you won't stray.
It will give you all the strength; and will take you through.
Keep your eyes upon the goal, keep it always in your sight.

It will help you don the crooked road, and lead you to the light."

Another simple thought from Pravs world, which just set me in the right direction. The dark road, the unknown way and yet, the goal helping to reach the final destination!Light!Amen!!Lovely!

Life

This quote is from Abha's blog..thanks, Abha.

“Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don’t, and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.”

Simple lines, yet, they say it all!!
